OXO Plastic Cutting Board Offers A Quality Non Skid Cutting Surface

To many, OXO means kitchen gadgets. Turns out, they make a solid plastic cutting board that looks to be a good addition to any kitchen. The OSO Good Grips Utility Cutting Board is a nice size at 10 1/2 by 15 inches and has some neat features that separate it from your basic wooden slab. First of all, the kitchen cutting board is made of polypropylene which makes it durable and tough as well as nonporous and resistant to odors. It won’t, however, dull knives and resists deep scratches on its surface. Next, it has some nifty black handles (one of the “grips” features) that make transporting the plastic cutting board easy and serves to keep it firm on the surface.
Also keeping it from slipping are four small rubber “feet” on the board’s corners. Finally, the board comes complete with a groove running around the cutting side that catches liquids, such as juice from a melon, and keeps it off the counter. OXO claims you can fit this board into the dishwasher for easy clean up. Reviews I’ve read online vary (as reviews tend to do). Most reviews were overall positive in nature.

A few complaints of the Oxo Utility Cutting Boards bending and warping caused by washing in a dishwasher. One complaint of deep gouges being created into the plastic while using it.
So What’s The Scoop?
Some consumers would dispute the claim that the kitchen cutting board is dishwasher safe; it appears some people have had no issues while others have had melting, bending and warping of the board from dishwashing. Overall, the Oxo Cutting Boards appears to be a solid product with some nice features.
