Gap Linen-cotton Utility Shorts: Cute, Comfortable, or Both?

Last Updated on September 14, 2019 by Cassie Lyons

Gap Linen-cotton Utility Shorts are a 55% linen and 45% cotton blend and come in four different colors: twig, blue indigo, neon flamingo, and mint sorbet. These shorts are mid-rise plus have two pockets in the front and two in the back. The back two pockets each have a button on them in a shade similar to that of the shorts. The fit is pretty straight legged, so not too tight on the thighs but when you seat they aren’t too loose that you show too much. Fortunately these shorts are machine washable- because I have two pairs now and nobody got time for hand wash.

The Positives

These shorts are super soft and light, but not light enough to be seen through. I love the variety of colors because they are all different, so whatever your style is at least one color will suit you. I personally purchased the twig which is a nice, earthy green and the blue indigo which isn’t a really dark blue, but it also isn’t cobalt whatsoever. Both don’t bleed when washed and also after being washed they don’t need to be ironed just for them to not wrinkle. Once on the wrinkles smooth out nicely and it adds a nice texture truthfully.

The Negatives

I love these shorts! There is a slight negative in my opinion because the waistband has no stretch, so if you’re bloated or just having a chubby day they don’t have any give so it can be a little uncomfortable. Hopefully though, you’ll have enough room that you can pig out every once in a while.

So What’s The Scoop?
Gap Linen-cotton Utility Shorts are mixed material shorts of -you guess it- linen and cotton. There are four different colors and the sizes vary from 00-20. These shorts are super comfortable and easy to take care of, I recommend purchasing at least one pair for the Summer, Spring, and Fall.
