Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Moisture Retention Shampoo- Reversing Hair Damage While You Shower

Last Updated on October 31, 2017 by Cassie Lyons

Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Moisture Retention Shampoo is a sulfate free shampoo that is meant to hydrate and repair your hair while still cleansing it of daily oil and dead skin build up. The shampoo is nearly latherless and has a very light shea butter scent. There is also a conditioner to match, but I have yet to use it.

The Positives
This product cleanses efficiently without being harsh on sensitive hair. The product also utilizes ingredients like sea kelp, argan oil, and of course shea butter. Sea kelp contains a multitude of vitamins like A, B, C, D, and E! These vitamins help stimulate growth and moisture in a healthy manner. Also, an odd sounding ingredient called luminaria angustata, another component of sea kelp, is thought to have hair thickening qualities. Another beneficial ingredient in the shampoo is argan oil which is well-known for its use in hair and skin products, but why? It’s because argan oil is potent in vitamin C which is rich in antioxidants that encourage hair growth and moisturization. And of course the last, and most obvious ingredient is shea butter. Shea butter has great healing benefits, so it can assist in irritation on your scalp such as dandruff or psoriasis. This also benefits damaged hair from chemical processing.

The Negatives
Because this product doesn’t lather very well and is indeed sulfate-free- you need quite a bit of product to really cleanse your hair and scalp properly.

So What’s The Scoop?
Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Moisture Retention Shampoo is a natural shampoo that contains sea kelp, argan oil, and shea butter. It cleanses without drying out your hair and helps to reverse hair damage. The only negative is that you need to use a decent amount of product to reap the full benefits. However, I’d still say it’s a product you should try.
