Last Updated on August 16, 2017 by Cassie Lyons

Finding a toy for your child that is both fun and allows for a learning experience is something you can really feel good about. This what Melissa and Doug toy company strives to produce with each new product design they release on the market. I really love Melissa and Doug toys because they are well made and appropriate for the age, in this case toddler/preschool. This Melissa And Doug See And Spell is simple, offering straight-forward logic that kids will understand and really enjoy getting involved with. Parents will love the opportunity to work with their young children as they start to grasp how each letter fits into the wooden board.

See and Spell contains twenty pictures of three or four letter words, with more than seventy colored letters included. The boards all have a picture of the word they are placing, as to help the child visually recall the word they are spelling. The Melissa & Doug See & Spell learning toy comes in its own case with a lid for easy cleanup and storage.

The Positives
Complete a puzzle to spell a word, while developing a sight-reading vocabulary. Includes 64 colorful wooden letters fit into the 8 two-sided cutout boards. All spelling and fine motor fun fits into one compact wooden storage case. Perfect opportunity to introduce lower case letters to young children. Twenty playful pictures with three and includes over 70 letters.

The Negatives
A few reports that the top color laminate of the letters can fall off. The storage box the letters come in is reported to be not very sturdy.

So What’s The Scoop?
Children will start developing better alphabet recognition while learning fine motor skills as they place each letter. Without question, one of the best kids spelling toy board on the market today.
