There are few things in life that are better than a new toy that is not only fun to use, but also useful. Ask any golfer and they’ll tell you that they play the game because it’s a great way to relax; yet all the cursing and broken club heads you find on courses across the country tell a different story. Take the stress out of the game and add a little more fun with the Garmin Approach G5 Waterproof Touchscreen Golf GPS. The handheld golf GPS from Garmin features a rugged, waterproof design with a 3-inch touchscreen display that be read even in direct sunlight. Garmin’s GPS unit comes preloaded with U.S. golf courses including fairways, greens, and hazards.

In addition to mapping out courses for you, the Garmin helps golfers map the distance to the green to eliminate guesswork from their shots and also keeps score for up to four players. A good deal of golf gps devices are available on the market, so deciding the right device for each individual will depend on the number of features included on each model. This particular Garmin model is among the more expensive, costing over $300.

While the vast majority of online reviewers had nothing but positive remarks about the Garmin Approach G5 Waterproof Touchscreen Golf GPS, several reviewers were less than impressed. The biggest complaint from many reviewers was that despite claims that the Garmin golf gps unit could be read in direct sunlight, it was actually very difficult to view outdoors.
