ecotools Large Powder Brush: Can You Have Soft Bristles AND be Eco-Friendly?

Last Updated on October 29, 2019 by Cassie Lyons

ecotools Large Powder Brush is made of synthetic fibers, has a bamboo handle, and a recycled, bronze middle piece holding the bamboo handle and fibers together. The packaging is nearly all recyclable and of course is quite pleasing to the eye. The brush head is on the larger size and is meant to apply and set your foundation.

The Positives
Beyond the environmental benefits of this product, the brush is also quite nice! The fibers are super soft and don’t retain too much makeup or hold onto facial oils when applied- like some brushes do. The handle’s texture is nice to hold onto and as mentioned before, looks beautiful next to all your other brushes. Another positive is the super affordable price, $7.99 for a great brush is a steal.

The Negatives
This brush is decent, but there is a not so obvious error until you use the product. The brush bristles are luxuriously soft; however, they’re so flimsy it’s like trying to use over-cooked spaghetti noodles to apply powder! That may be an over exaggeration, but I think you get the picture. Another way of looking at it is that this brush would be the opposite of a kabuki, it just caresses your face instead of really applying the makeup.

So What’s The Scoop?
ecotools Large Powder Brush is super soft, super environmentally friendly, and super flimsy. In truth, this brush is a preference buy. If you like a really solid, buffer brush- this is for sure not your brush. But if you like a very, very light brush that just dusts on makeup and gives a light application, well then this is the perfect purchase!
